ABOUT Panama City Beach

Visit Panama City Beach, Home of the
“World’s Most Beautiful Beaches

Why consider a getaway to Panama Beach, Florida? For starters, this growing coastal city in the Gulf of Mexico offers unique sugary-white beach sands, natural dunes and crystal-clear waters. This helps to explain the city’s nickname: the “ World’s Most Beautiful Beaches.” The local beach at St Andrews State Recreation Area has gained fame state-wide, as in 1995, Dr. Stephen Leatherman, known worldwide as “Dr. Beach,” ranked it as the “Number One Beach in America.” By the way, it’s helpful to know what city you’re describing. While Panama Beach is often referred to as “ Panama City,” that name actually refers to a larger, older nearby city in Bay County.

The stunning seaside locales have helped to make Panama Beach, FL a leading destination for travelers of all ages. High school and college students in particular, have long realized the appeal of Panama Beach, Florida. Due to an annual influx of an estimated 100,000 student s and related merry-makers, this town goes by another nickname every March and April, “ The Spring Break Capital of the World.” While many bars and nightclubs have come and gone, there is still a wide array of thriving hotspots to take in throughout the city.
